Overview
The Northern Territory (NT) Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics proposes a program for establishing an industrial precinct on Middle Arm Peninsula, Darwin Harbour, as a strategic location for developing industries such as low emission petrochemicals, renewable hydrogen, carbon capture storage and minerals processing over a 50 year timeframe.

Your feedback plays an important role and will be considered by the NT EPA in deciding whether the proposed action requires environmental impact assessment, and if so the required method of assessment.
Consultation helps the NT EPA and proponent to identify issues of concern and potential effects, as well as get feedback from stakeholders on project options or potential mitigation measures.

Statutory notice 12 April 2022
The NT EPA invites public comment on a proponent-initiated EIS referral of a strategic proposal for strategic assessment submitted by the NT Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics for a program to establish an industrial precinct on Middle Arm Peninsula, Darwin Harbour.
The referral documents can be inspected and obtained below. Interested persons may make a submission by 10 June 2022. The NT EPA publishes this notice in accordance with regulation 52(1) of the Environment Protection Regulations 2020.
