The NT EPA has prepared the following material to assist the public, business and proponents to understand how the NT EPA undertakes its regulatory functions and its expectations of the community and business for environmental management.
Guidelines are policy documents that describe minimum expectations in relation to a particular subject matter that are endorsed by the NT EPA or have been developed by the NT EPA. The NT EPA recognises that guidelines may not always be suitable in the specific circumstance.
The NT EPA expects that where business and proponents do not comply with the guideline, this variation is supported by a well-researched and clear justification.
