TNG Limited has released the draft Environmental Impact Statement for the Darwin Processing Facility for public review for 12 weeks.
TNG Limited (TNG) proposes to construct and operate the Darwin Processing Facility at Middle Arm, Darwin Harbour.
The facility would process magnetite concentrate railed from TNG's (separately proposed) Mt Peake Project, 1,400km south of Darwin, and produce titanium dioxide pigment, vanadium oxide and iron oxide.
The project requires assessment under the NT Environmental Assessment Act 1982 and is a ‘controlled action’ under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999. The project is being assessed at the level of an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) under the bilateral agreement between the NT and Australian Governments.
The draft Environmental Impact Statement is now available for public comment. Comments are to be submitted on or before COB 21 February 2020.
