KGL Resources Limited has released the draft Environmental Impact Statement for the Jervois Base Metal Project for public review.
KGL proposes to reopen the historic Jervois Mine and develop the Jervois Base Metal Project. The Proposal is located approximately 380 kilometres north-east of Alice Springs, off the Plenty Highway. The Proposal site contains copper, silver, gold, lead and zinc. KGL propose to mine ore by open cut and underground methods and process it to a concentrate on site. The concentrate will then be trucked to the rail freight terminal in Alice Springs, and then onto Darwin and/or Adelaide by rail. The operations will focus on optimising the recovery of the currently estimated copper resource of 25.2Mt. The Proposal has a potential mine life of 12 to 15 years, producing up to 150,000 tonnes of base metal concentrate per year.
The draft Environmental Impact Statement is now available for public comment. Comments are to be submitted by 14 December 2018.
