The Northern Territory Environment Protection Authority (NT EPA) has released the draft Terms of Reference for the preparation of an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Daly River Road Pyrolysis Plant Project for public review.
Mr Anthony Gurr and Ms Bao Huang (the Proponents) propose to construct and operate the Daly River Road Pyrolysis Plant (the Proposal), to process used tyres and plastic medical waste into crude oil, liquid propane gas, steel and carbon char. The proposed location of the facility is NT Portion 5216, in the Silkwood Estate, Daly River Road, approximately 30 kilometres south of Adelaide River.
The NT EPA decided that the Proposal requires assessment under the Environmental Assessment Act 1982 at the level of an EIS.
The draft Terms of Reference were developed by the NT EPA to assist the Proponents in preparing an EIS for the Proposal.
The draft Terms of Reference are now available for public comment. Comments are to be submitted on or before COB 14 March 2020.
The NT EPA will then finalise and issue the Terms of Reference to the Proponents for preparation of the EIS.
