The Australian Government, through the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW), is inviting feedback on proposed standards to manage key chemical groups, including chemicals commonly used in cleaning products.
Consultation on proposed standards to manage five groups of industrial chemicals – hexachlorobenzene, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), polychlorinated terphenyls (PCBs), lauryl (dodecyl) sulfates, and linear alkylbenzene sulfonates – is open from 30 September 2024.
Feedback will help Australian governments and businesses to effectively manage the environmental risk of these chemicals.
An online public webinar will be held on 8 October 2024 to provide further information and learn from the experience of others.
To have your say, or find out more, visit the Australian Government DCCEEW’s consultation hub regarding these Industrial Chemicals Environmental Management Standards before 25 October 2024.
