Overview

APA SPP Pty Ltd proposes to construct and operate a gas pipeline (Sturt Plateau Pipeline) in the Roper Gulf Region, approximately 50 km south of Daly Waters, and approximately 80 km north of Elliott. The proposal comprises approximately 40 km of buried gas transmission pipeline, receipt and delivery stations, a temporary construction camp, and operation and decommissioning of the pipeline.

Why we are consulting

Your feedback plays an important role and will be considered by the NT EPA in deciding whether the proposed action requires environmental impact assessment, and if so the required method of assessment.

Consultation helps the NT EPA and proponent to identify issues of concern and potential effects, as well as get feedback from stakeholders on project options or potential mitigation measures.

Statutory notice (13 December 2024)

The NT EPA invites public comment on a referral for a standard assessment submitted by APA SPP Pty Ltd to construct and operate a gas pipeline (Sturt Plateau Pipeline) in the Roper Gulf Region, approximately 50 km south of Daly Waters, and approximately 80 km north of Elliott. The proposal comprises approximately 40 km of buried gas transmission pipeline, receipt and delivery stations, a temporary construction camp, and operation and decommissioning of the pipeline.

The referral documents can be inspected and obtained below. Interested persons may make a submission by 30 January 2025. The NT EPA publishes this notice in accordance with regulation 52(1) of the Environment Protection Regulations 2020.
