Grants Lithium Project
Core Exploration Limited
Core Exploration Limited proposes to develop an open–cut lithium mine targeting a pegmatite deposit containing spodumene (a lithium-bearing ore). Ore would be mined using drilling and blasting methods and processed using either crushing or screening to produce Direct Shipping Ore or a higher lithium concentrate using additional processing. The proposal is located approximately 24km south of the Darwin CBD and 22km west of Berry Springs. The mine would operate for two to three years.
The NT EPA decided that the Grants Lithium Project requires assessment under the Environmental Assessment Act at the level of an Environmental Impact Statement.
The draft EIS is available for public comment until Friday 14 December 2018
