Vista Gold Australia Pty Ltd
Vista Gold Australia Pty Ltd is proposing to expand the Mount Todd Gold Mine, approximately 55km north-west of Katherine, adjacent to the Edith River.
In 2011, the then Minister for Natural Resources, Environment and Heritage determined that the project required assessment under the NT Environmental Assessment Act (EA Act) at the level of Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). The project is a controlled action under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 and is being assessed under an accredited process.
The controlling provisions are:
- Listed threatened species and communities (sections 18 and 18A); and
- Listed migratory species (sections 20 and 20A).
