Proponent: Power and Water Corporation (NT)
Overview
Power and Water Corporation (NT) proposes to return the existing Manton Dam reservoir to service as a water supply reservoir for the greater Darwin region. The proposal includes the construction, upgrade and operation of infrastructure at Manton Dam, a new water pipeline along the Stuart Highway, and a new water treatment plant at Strauss, plus the ongoing extraction and treatment of water.

Public consultation on the referral
Statutory notice (1 November 2023)
The NT EPA published a statutory notice on 1 November 2023 inviting public comment on a referral for standard assessment submitted by Power and Water for the Manton Dam Return to Service Project.
Interested persons were invited to make a submission by 29 November 2023. The NT EPA published the notice in accordance with regulation 52(1) of the Environment Protection Regulations 2020.
