Proponent: Groote Holdings Aboriginal Corporation
Overview
Groote Holdings Aboriginal Corporation (GHAC) proposes to construct and operate infrastructure and facilities on Groote Eylandt, about 4km north-east of the main township of Alyangula. The proposal includes a marina and wharf; biosecurity facilities; logistics hub and base camp; and aquaculture facilities for research and development.

Statutory notice (27 August 2024)
The NT EPA published a statutory notice on 27 August 2024 to invite public comment on a referral for standard assessment, submitted by GHAC to construct and operate infrastructure and facilities in the north-east of the main township of Alyangula on Groote Eylandt.
Interested persons were invited to make a submission by 24 September 2024. The NT EPA published the notice in accordance with regulation 52(1) of the Environment Protection Regulations 2020.

Withdrawal
On 24 March 2025, the Little Paradise Development Project proposed by Groote Holdings Aboriginal Corporation was withdrawn from the environmental assessment process in accordance with Regulation 94 of the Environment Protection Regulations 2020.
